Construction of a New Emergency Department Building at the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital

Tender description

The project comprises of the construction of a new two storey brick clad accident and emergency department with a plant room on the roof, with an overall gross internal floor area of 1,038 Sq.m. The main building will have a clinical accident and emergency department on the ground floor, offices on the first and a plant room on the second floor. The proposal also includes a single storey extension to the existing single storey entrance building, including minor alterations to provide a new waiting area and reception with a new security guard hut being located closer to the entrance of the site. The existing 5 storey building adjacent to the South of the site boundary will be clad, at ground floor level, in perforated metal to screen the existing building. External works will comprise of the demolition of the existing security building, smoking gazebo, bike shelter, ramps, railings, etc. construction of a new extrance canopy and staff car park including roads, paths and pavings, site services, landscaping and modifications to the existing pedstrian crossing system. The new building will be constructed within the live Coombe Hospital Facility which will remain fully operational for the duration of the works. Tenderers are initially invited to partake in a Suitability Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) for the above project.
