Tender description

Food waste reporting will become a mandatory part of Ireland’s National Waste Statistics obligations, with first reporting due in June 2022 for reference year 2020. Member States are to measure and report on annual estimates of the amount of food waste generated at the different stages of the food supply chain. The EPA’s Waste Statistics and Food Waste teams have undertaken a preliminary assessment of the processing and manufacturing sector, and have identified possible sources of food waste data and data gaps. We propose engaging a contractor, over a period of three months, to address these gaps, build on this initial assessment, and develop an approach to satisfy mandatory food waste reporting requirements for the processing and manufacturing sector.
