Tender description

Strip existing lead trays from the back of existing Sail Frames to include lead flashings, baseboards, tilting fillet wedges, hem laths & remove off site. Disconnect and take down the existing sail frames (4no.). Remove supporting cleats, cramps and bolt assemblies and replace with appropriate fixings as specified. Remove existing timber frames from the sail cleats. Retain & store the sail cleats for refurbishment and re-use. Remove sail frame off site & replace with new frame to match existing and to specification re-using the refurbished sail cleats. Re-erect & fix the sail frames. Refurbish existing painted Glulam Main Cleats & Clamps in-situ. Refurbishment to include minor repairs and re-painting. Refurbish existing painted timber windmill roof fascia/apron in-situ to include minor repairs and re-painting. Paint external roof elements, walls, windows (16no) and doors (3no) safety railings to external access platform at roof level & viewing platform at 1st floor level timber work to specification. Power hose the exterior roof, walls, windows and doors. Construct new safety railing to external platform at roof level. Fit new studded stainless steel band to rotation wheel to facilitate chain rotation. Release seized windmill operating mechanisms including cleaning & greasing. Provide new support struts to the existing first floor viewing platform & paint to match existing. Satisfy H&S requirements and PSCS role for the duration of the works. Fit 4 no. cloth sails and associated rigging systems. Sails, rigging and operation system to be designed and specified by specialist designer with appropriate Professional Indemnity insurance, designed to current recognised international regulations. Sails canvas material to be synthetic to specialist manufacturer recommendation. Sails to be fixed & set easily by one person from observation deck & must be reefed easily multiple times per day. Rigging to specialist Manufacturer’s design & fixed to the main sail cleat.
