ANDBC Tender for the Provision of Restoration Works to the Old Gunpowder Store, Donaghadee

Tender description

Tenders are sought by Ards and North Down Borough Council for the for the provision of restoration works to the Old Gunpowder Store, Donaghadee. It is proposed to conduct remedial works to Donaghadee Motte which is a scheduled monument and contains a listed building . Scheduled monument consent (SMC) has been granted for the following works: • Vegetation management; • Upgrading of existing concrete path, steps and handrail; • Surface to old east path; • Floodlight installation; • Rebuild pillar of north boundary wall • New steps to Gunpowder doorway and resurfacing around perimeter • Installation of litter bins, benches and interpretation signs. In addition it is proposed to install a new roof to the gunpowder store building. As part of this work it will be necessary to address the issue of rain run-off from the roof. At present there is no SMC covering proposals for this.
