Tender description

Galway City Council wish to shortlist Contractors which will be requested to tender for site accommodation, development and landscaping works to permit the development of a lawn cemetery and areas for cremated remains urns to permit future extension of rahoon cemetery. This may require advancement of some sections of work in a staged approach. The existing site is less than 1 hectare, located adjacent to the existing cemetery and requires re-profiling (cut and fill), with some rock breaking, access road construction works and foundations works for headstones. The cut and fill exercise across the site is to ensure that a minimum of 1m permeable unsaturated subsoils is permanently present between the base of each grave (i.e. 1.8mbgl) and the water table or bedrock (whichever is shallower). Sensitive management of traffic and the works themselves is critical to the success of this project.
