Dept. for Health and Social Care with associated Central Government Bodies is conducting market research to inform and engage with the market. Covid-19 test kits are packed singly in a manual bench operation at several sites. The department wishes to gather information around equipment, systems or services that will improve the productivity of this operation. This Request for Information (RFI) seeks to identify services, handling equipment and systems in the market, to improve productivity and which can be implemented rapidly. The RFI is a search for solutions across a range of handling systems such as conveyors and document insertion, quality control systems such as vision systems and RFID tagging and associated control systems and integration. We wish to understand if there are solutions within the market that are capable of rapid implementation by the end of December 2020 and also receive proposals for longer term solutions. This is to inform and engage with the market ahead of a potential OJEU Process. The range of proposed equipment is not prescribed but could include: label printers, label applicators, carton erectors, packing machines, conveyors, literature dispensers, bag dispensers, A frame dispensers, vision systems (QC and bar code capture), RFID, custom handling equipment, robots, and associated control systems. All suppliers that wish to participate in the RFI will receive a Non-Disclosure Agreement. This must be returned before the RFI is sent. All requests to participate in this exercise must be received by 24 July 2020. RFI Responses must be received by 14 August 2020 All replies will be acknowledged and analysed. Clarifications may be requested via Atamis. Respondents will not receive feedback on this RFI stage.
