LEE863C Supply, Delivery and Installation of a Biological Nanoindenter to CÚRAM, NUI Galway

Tender description

This nanoindentation system will be required to support research in the areas of hard- and soft-tissue biomechanics, mechanobiology, tissue imaging and characterisation, and the design and development of next generation diagnostic devices. In particular, academia-industry partnerships in the medical technologies and medical diagnostics industry domains will be users of the system which will help further the development of new implants and devices. Companies will be able to use the system to assess the design and performance of their medical implant and device products and their interactions with biological tissues. The Nanoindenter is required to include integrated optics for viewing the samples while performing mechanical analysis. It must also have the capability to automatically process numerous samples within the same experiment while controlling the environmental conditions of the sample. The equipment is proposed to be located within the Biomedical Sciences Building at NUI Galway
