Inishgort Landing Repairs

Tender description

Irish Lights would like to engage suitably a qualified contractor/supplier to provide a number of services to repair storm damage at Inishgort Lighthouse, Clew Bay, Co. Mayo (3°49.594' North, 09°40.259' West). The lighthouse is located on an uninhabited island, and is accessed from a nearby shingle beach and causeway. The area in question is reasonably level, but generally covered in large rounded beach stones. The location is subject to waves and tides. The works consist of repairs to two separate areas of the existing sea wall/defences which were damaged in recent storms, Part A and Part B above. The contractor will be responsible for the delivery to the island, and to locations for Part A and Part B, of Clause 804 hardcore, steel reinforcement, shuttering, and compacting equipment. These will be as per quantities described and will be purchased and installed by Irish Lights. The contractor will be responsible for the supply and delivery of ready mix concrete to site, to the outline specification provided and to be agreed. The contractor will be responsible for the necessary logistics and temporary access for the delivery of the materials and equipment described, this includes the construction of a temporary surface for concrete trucks, any concrete batching or pumping required, etc. The contractor will be responsible for the removal and responsible disposal of waste material from the Island upon completion. The contractor will be required to work in collaboration with the Irish Lights direct labour for the duration of the works. Irish Lights will be responsible for shuttering, steel-fixing, and preparatory works prior to the delivery of concrete to site. Other minor works on site may be agreed with the successful supplier. All works will be carried out during normal working hours unless conditions, tides, etc. dictate otherwise
