Tender description

This is an Open Invitation to Tender where suitably qualified applicants are invited to respond for inclusion in a Multi-Supplier Framework Agreement in 2 Lots. Lot 1: At Sea i. sample and record catch, landings, discards and effort information for recreational and commercial fish and shellfish fishing operations observed ii. sample and provide size composition data for the landed and discarded proportions of the catch iii. record by-catch of non-target species where appropriate iv. participate in FEAS shellfish surveys as and if required v. participate in FEAS projects at sea as and if required. vi. bring ashore biological samples for further analysis by Marine Institute personnel as and if required vii. Data recording may be on paper format or in some cases electronic format using Smart Phones and based on e-forms supplied by the Marine Institute viii. co-ordinate and plan observer and data collection programmes at local level ix. convert hard copy data acquired at sea to digital format as and if required and per specifications supplied by the Marine Institute. Lot 2: On land i. sample and record the size composition of landed shellfish at processors, co-operatives or other facilities which may be used to store shellfish ii. obtain relevant data / records from processors co-operatives or other facilities related to the sample obtained iii. co-ordinate and plan observer and data collection programmes at local level iv. convert hard copy data acquired at port to digital format as and if required and per specifications supplied by the Marine Institute A detailed technical description is available in the attached Invitation to Tender document.
