The Council is seeking to appoint a competent supplier to design, develop and deliver a comprehensive Irish Traveller Culture Programme in the area of Documentary Photography across the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area. The programme will comprise of 2 projects involving workshop-based learning and site visits. The overall aim of the programme is as follows: • Promotion of the Irish Travelling Community’s culture in order to address existing myths, stereotypes and negative attitudes; • Facilitation of meaningful engagement between the Irish Travelling community and settled communities; • Building the capacity of Irish Traveller community; • Enhancing cultural understanding between communities.
