The development of a new business & operation plan for Thoamstown School of Food

Thomastown Town of Food Clg. (TToF) is a community-based non-profit distributing company limited by guarantee, based in County Kilkenny. TToF has a brief to “carry on the business of the promotion and development of a food-based community, educational and commercial initiatives and all activities related thereto.” Following some years of successful operation to a business model focused largely on training for the hospitality and restaurant trade the new Board of Directors has adopted a different approach to the Company’s mission and wish to secure the services of suitably qualified parties to assist them in the development of a new business plan- and the related operational model to that plan. The high-level objective is to assist the Board of Directors to make the strategic and tactical decision and allocations necessary to both fulfil its mission and to become sustainable as a social enterprise. The TToF will require the contracted party to provide the following services and to deliver to the requirements that follow: • Conduct a review of all elements of the current business plan and operational model- and provide the Board of Directors with a report of its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for the Company. • Conduct a competitor analysis to the existing and potential business model. • Identify new areas of focus which will underpin the new business model. • Assist the Board in the development of operational procedures and processes to optimise the delivery of the business plan. • Advise on any investments or changes to the operation of the School of Food to improve sustainability.
