Tender description

The Lister Community School situated in Plaistow, East London is a large successful mixed comprehensive of 1 500 pupils. A planned expansion starts in September 2021 which will see the school increase to 1 650. The School is looking for potential contractors to demonstrate their relevant experience and expertise in order to manage the catering service. They require a cost effective service while maintaining high-quality in food and delivery. The majority of the current catering staff are entitled to LGPS, therefore there will be a requirement to obtain admitted body status. The Contract will be for 3 years with a further two possible extensions of a year each. Lister community school currently has 1 500 pupils and 180 staff, with an expansion plan in place that will increase the roll to 1 650. 361 pupils are entitled to free school meals.The meal price is GBP 2.5 and GBP 2.70 for staff The pupil and staff body reflect the diversity of the local population and Halal meat must be provided. The majority of catering staff are entitled to LGPS, therefore admitted body status will have to be gained for the Newham pension authority.
