Roscommon Town Centre and Main Street Public Realm Enhancement Project

Tender description

The site is located in Roscommon Town Centre with the site extents encompassing Main Street and Market Square. The proposed works comprise of the following: - Urban Realm improvements - The creation of more pedestrianised areas by widening footpaths - The reduction of carriageway lane widths - The removal of car parking - All pedestrianised areas will be resurfaced with granite paviours - The installation of public lighting - The installation of new regulatory and pedestrian signage as well as road markings - Changes in the road pavement - Realignment of the existing carriageway which will improve traffic flow. - The road carriageway on Main Street will have an asphalt surface course - The carriageway within the new shared space will consist of a paved surface - Excavation works and reinstatement of pavement layers. - The re-location of some underground services and utilities - The installation of a new watermain - A new surface drainage network - A new foul sewer network and the demolition of the existing combined sewer
