Tender description
Kingston Council is in the process of selecting external consultants to carry out the Detailed Project Design. This follows completion of various studies (supplied on request) sponsored by the Greater London Authority such as energy mapping, masterplanning and feasibility studies. These reports indicate that a district heating network is a viable proposition for central Kingston. The work covered by this contract is for Phase 1 and 2, which is defined in detail below. Phase 1 of the network covers the construction of the main energy centre at the Hogsmill River, connections to several housing estates. Phase 2 is the (re)modelling of the Kingston Hospital site energy systems, including its district heating networks, to enable the importing of off-site zero carbon heat to be economically viable for both the hospital Trust and the Kingston district heating network.
