Why the Work is Being Done The Met Office is undergoing significant and exciting change: implementing a new target operating model; a new organisation design, and; reconfigured business processes to deliver the newly launched strategy. Without them, what we do just wouldn't be possible. • Exceptional science, technology and operations We have earned a reputation for continually pushing the boundaries of scientific, technological and operational expertise. Our supercomputer is one of the most powerful of its kind in the world, capable of 14,000 trillion arithmetic operations each second. Looking further ahead, our investment in data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence will help us meet the grand challenges of the future. Problem to Be Solved 1. Resources The Met Office require the following resources: - • A team of five Business Process Experts; comprising a Senior Process Analyst and four Process Analysts; 2. Activities The Met Office require the team to undertake the following key activities: - Revise, reconfigure, re-architect and remodel existing business processes to deliver the process flows described by the newly designed capabilities and macro processes; • Identify opportunities for lean process improvement; • Design new processes where capability gaps are identified; • Model the new and revised processes to the Met Office Process Hub, in line with our process modelling standards and approvals process; Supplier Characteristics The Met Office have identified the following essential characteristics for the success of this project: - • Experienced process experts, with recognised qualifications in business process management and improvement; • A clearly articulated approach to process modelling, aligned to BPMN 2.0 standards; • Experience in delivering process improvement leveraging Lean Thinking; • Expertise in the use of the *Signavio Business Process Modelling suite of tools; • Experience of implementing new ToMs in complex business environments; • Experience in taking a capability-led approach to ToM implementation and process design; Who Are the Users Suppliers who meet the high level criteria and are interested in this opportunity are invited to email their company name to susan.matthews@metoffice.gov.uk - IMPORTANT - The Met Office utilise Pro-Contract as their e-tendering portal - please ensure that your organisation is registered on this portal as access to the additional information contained within the Invitation to Tender can only be accessed via this portal.
