Tender description

The Centre of Micro/Nano Manufacturing Technology (MNMT-Dublin) was established at University College Dublin in 2016. MNMT-Dublin is specialising in design and manufacturing of medical devices, bio-implants, photonic systems, molding and tooling, as well as high precision manufacturing and metrology. MNMT-Dublin also carries out the systematic study on Atomic and Close-to-atomic Scale Manufacturing (ACSM) and has made significant progress in the field. While the MNMT-Dublin has been focusing on fundamental studies and process investigations, it has also developed extensive applications in various industrial sectors. The Centre wishes to purchase an ultra-precision 5-axis freeform machining system. The system must be capable of producing complex freeform geometries with three linear and two rotary axes surfaces, as well as other high precision mechanical components, by way of diamond turning, micro milling or grinding.
