Treatment of Residual waste and Associated Services

Tender description

The Authority, is inviting tenders in respect of a Term Contract for the provision of disposal and/or treatment capacity for residual waste Midlothian Council is seeking tenders for the treatment, recovery or disposal of around 8,000T of approved waste in each year of the contract. No quantities can be fixed or guaranteed since the future quantity is driven by a variable demand. Options as to the proposed method of waste treatment, recovery or disposal are left with the Contractor. Such measures may include, but are not limited to: processing of waste through a Residual Materials Recovery Facility (Residual / Dirty MRF); Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT); production of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF); aggregate washing of street sweeping material or any other secondary treatment to remove recyclable materials.
