TARGET AUDIENCE:\r For all administrative staff in Primary, Special and Secondary Schools. Other staff based in schools who may be interested in progressing to train and qualify as clerks to governor meetings.\r \r COURSE OUTLINE AND PURPOSE:\r This course will provide you with essential skills for each stage of the process: understanding the meeting, working with the Chair, preparing the agenda, developing listening techniques, recording the meeting, distilling key points and structuring and writing up the minutes.\r \r You will also benefit from a year's support from the tutor.\r \r KEY OBJECTIVES: \r • Understanding the meeting\r • Working with the chair\r • Writing and using the agenda\r • Best practice in taking notes and minutes\r • Developing the right tone and using professional language\r • Overcoming the passive voice and avoiding common mistakes
