Tender description

Restoration and refurbishment works to buildings, structures and hard and soft landscaping, as well as the construction of a new build Operations Centre and the design and construction of a new play area at South Cliff Gardens, Scarborough. The project comprises the following main elements of work as further described and quantified in the works information: Repair and conservation works: — covering and seeding obsolete footpaths; — making good to ends of obsolete footpaths; — overlay and repairs to existing footpaths; — reconstruction of existing footpaths; — surface treatments to accessible routes; — renewal of footpath edgings; — new accessible paths; — provision/renewal of steps and natural stone paving; — soft landscaping works; — habitat management and wildlife enhancements; — tree planting; — tree removal/arboricultural works; — street furniture; — timber and metal fencing provision/repair/renewal; — retaining walls and structures; — remedial works to existing shelters, buildings and features; — replacement urns/statuary; — repairs to funicular tunnel; — lighting and mains electrical services; — drainage works. New building works: — new operations centre building and associated external works, services and drainage; — conversion of shelter to provide WC/changing facilities; — new gateway features; — artwork/sculptures; — waymarking and signage; — design and construction of new play area; — fitness trail; — cycle route access improvements; — cycle parking and signage; — new footpaths.
