FET O'Connell Ave Limerick T06 Roof Works

Tender description

The works comprise the reslating of the existing roof over room T06, This roof area is located at the corner of O'Connell Ave and Roden St. FET is a Protected Structure. The existing building is 2 storey red brick construction with a second floor located within the roof space. Room T06 includes a lead clad dormer facing Roden St and 2 no substantial brick chimneys. The leadwork to the dormer is to be renewed. The brick chimneys are to be taken down to eaves level and rebuilt in brick salvaged during the removal. The pitched roof is to be reslated in natural slate consisting of slate salvaged from the stripping and a mix of recycled matching slate. The roof structure timbers are to be treated and repaired where necessary and there are associated plaster repairs to the interior. The dormer is to have replacement windows, sliding sash type to match the other elevations. Works contractors are to provide a full scaffolding and temporary roof with covered loading bays over the buildings to prevent water ingress during construction.
