Tender description

The South Tees Development Corporation (STDC) proposes to undertake a procurement to select a joint venture partner for the private wire high voltage electricity distribution network at the South Tees site. Prior to initiating the procurement STDC is undertaking soft market testing in order to assess market appetite for the project and also to seek feedback on its proposed procurement and contractual structure. STDC proposes to undertake a procurement (on behalf of itself, its subsidiaries and its affiliates) using competitive dialogue to select a joint venture partner for the private wire high voltage electricity distribution network across the South Tees site. The joint venture will be a 50:50 joint venture between STDC and the strategic partner. The strategic partner shall underwrite all funding required to deliver electrical infrastructure across the site, including remedial repairs and when required replacement, rationalisation and expansion of the existing system. STDC may include an option within the procurement for an electricity retail service through the purchase of power from a licensed electricity supplier and the resale of that electricity to the site customers. It is envisaged that this procurement will commence in mid-July 2020.
