Tender description
Transport for London (TfL) is looking for manufacturers to supply bespoke components and associated services under a framework agreement with individual requirements tendered via mini competitions. The scope of supply is primarily the manufacture, verification and delivery of bespoke components. A bespoke component will normally be part of an assembly in a particular asset area, such as rolling stock (trains), safety signalling or permanent way (track) and will primarily be made of alloys of iron, aluminium and copper, although manufacture from other materials may be required. Manufacturing processes likely to be required include, but are not limited to: • machining (turning, drilling, milling, grinding, boring, broaching and thread cutting), • Waterjet and laser beam machining, • metal forming (thread rolling, extrusion, forging), • sheet metalworking (shearing, bending, drawing, pressing), • casting, • joining and fastening (welding, brazing, soldering, threaded fasteners, riveting, adhesive bonding), • finishing (deburring, honing, lapping, shot peening, electroplating, anodizing, polymer coating). More details are available in the procurement documents. Applicants expressing an interest will be required to complete and submit a standard selection questionnaire (SQ) via the TfL eTendering system at the above-mentioned address. The contracting entity shall select a shortlist of candidates to receive invitations to tender (ITT) in accordance with objective selection criteria as detailed in the SQ documents. The shortlist will be up to a maximum of 25 (twenty five) suppliers. TFL is seeking to award a multi supplier framework agreement to organisations who have the ability to provide the required goods and services. For further information please refer to the procurement documentation. The contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender (MEAT).
