To enable Dunmore East Sea Scouts to offer a sailing adventure program

Tender description

Dunmore East Sea Scouts,for boys and girls aged 12 to 16, is seeking to add adventures in sailing. Our sailing area extends from Dunmore East across the estuary. We also bring the boats to other locations by road. This tender is for sailing dinghies and a support boat. We require two (2) sailing dinghies which can carry one adult and 3-5 children of 12-16 years of age. The dinghies will be used to teach sailing to novices, but will also be used without an adult when the scouts have reached a level of competence (equivalent to ISA level 4, ABH). Our sailing conditions are limited to force 4, sea conditions can include waves of 30-50cm. Our storage area is a concrete area outdoors in which we also store plastic kayaks on racks. Launching trollies for both. Road trailer required. We require one (1) support / rescue craft to travel with the sailing dinghies and/or kayaks on day-long coastal trips, carrying supplies, first aid, and having capacity to take on board 2-4 children plus the adult helm. The engine capacity would need to enable the support craft to take in tow two sailing dinghies, operating in category D conditions. Road trailer required.
