Tender description

Supply and installation of solar power compacting bins in the functional area of Limerick City and County Council.The Contracting Authority are considering replacing a number of the current litter bin stock with solar powered compacting litter bins, reducing the collection frequency, while also providing the potential for advertisement revenue from panels on the new litter bins to help fund the venture. The Contracting Authority are intending to install initially a number of solar powered compacting litter bins throughout the city which may include a wireless monitoring system that will notify electronically the spare capacity of the litter bin. The litter bins are to be powered by a standalone renewable energy source.
