Bristol City Council is engaging the market to help us understand the capabilities of the market prior to determining a procurement exercise for services related to its print and mail management services. Responses from the market about services are being canvassed at present. Bristol City Council (BCC) is moving to a digital by default strategy for its print and mail services. Emerging digital technologies in the mail market provide new opportunities for us to make significant improvements in how BCC handles paper-based mail. We see the emphasis shifting from the delivery and production of physical mail items to the digital management of correspondence. Both inbound and outbound mail will be covered by delivering digital solutions that help enable Bristol City Council’s strategy to: • reduce costs, • reduce turnaround time, • reduce environmental impact, • increase productivity, • increase security, • increase service flexibility.
