Council Member Executive Search

Tender description

We are inviting you, as an executive search agency, to tender for the provision of a search and selection service for the appointment of Council members with the University of Salford. The University of Salford continually strives to build an inclusive and diverse workforce and wishes its governing body to reflect this. In addition, one of the recommendations of the recent Council Effectiveness Review was that the Council should take steps to increase its diversity. The Council is seeking to do that in filling its current vacancies, specifically seeking to attract BAME candidates but looking also for members from diverse backgrounds who can bring different but relevant experiences. As members of the governing body, Council members have responsibility for the affairs of the University, providing a vital role in ensuring assurance and scrutiny, monitoring institutional performance and setting the strategic direction of the University and delegating responsibility for management of the institution to the Vice-Chancellor and the Executive Team. The University is seeking to appoint up to four Council members (non-remunerated roles). We are also looking to generate a future candidate pipeline, potentially from those candidates who are not successful this round, and have a number of vacancies for co-opted members of Council committees which might be used as a channel for future full Council membership.
