Expression of interest The authority is inviting expressions of interest from interested parties for participation in the design, development and support of a fully integrated soldier system. Those interested must be involved with radio, sensor technologies and related component supply markets, (but must not be a component manufacturer), with demonstrable capabilities in User-centric design together with experience in system design covering hardware, software and system assurance. Beyond sensor integration, we are seeking responses from companies who have had exposure to, but preferably development experience of plugins for TAK and, due to this being the core software component of the system, we would welcome responders who have access to and knowledge of, the software development kit (SDK). The strategy under consideration is based on selection of a prime contractor to maintain capability currency for a period of up to 5 years with added responsibility of sourcing best-of breed components. A specific requirement of the authority shall be visibility of the procurement process conducted by the selected prime to ensure consistency in both value for money and selection of the best possible equipment throughout the contract period. Consequently, the partnering approach shall be central to the contracting strategy, details and processes of which shall be discussed and agreed with the preferred bidder prior to contract assent. Selection of participants in the competition for the role of prime shall be determined following completion of a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) which shall be issued immediately following closure of this EOI advertisement. Following completion of the PQQ response, contractors will be down-selected for tendering. Down selected contractors will be given an invitation to tender (ITT), with the highest scored ITT response to be considered the preferred contractor for the requirement. Only companies with or willing to attain the authority’s security requirements for this type of work shall be accepted for inclusion in the competition and resulting work package. Whilst there is every intention of progressing this essential requirement, the project remains subject to formal clearance of approvals and funding.
