North Devon Pioneer ELM scheme Trial Farm Scheme

Tender description

The North Devon Pioneer Environmental Land Management (ELM) trial is part of the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) ELM Tests and Trials programme which Defra initiated in 2018 as a mechanism to co-design the ELM scheme with stakeholders and to help refine and improve the policy framework and delivery methods. The trial will work in four landscape areas of North Devon: Hartland, Wistlandpound, The Torridge Culm and River Valley and the Taw Valley (see maps in Annex 1). It is hoped that the Tests and Trials will help Defra understand how critical building blocks of the new scheme could work in a real-life environment. This includes understanding the practicalities and requirements of the new scheme, such as how to incorporate local priority setting and what a Land Management Plan (LMP) should comprise.
