Tender description
The existing timber boardwalk runs alongside the River Barrow about 1 Km upstream from Graiguenamanagh town. The boardwalk was designed to provide a safe pedestrian route around the loop walk at Silaire Woods providing a year-round amenity that allows everyone who loves nature to enjoy the full beauty of one of Irelands many historic wood walks. Due to flood damage, the existing timber boardwalk is closed off from pedestrians. Kilkenny County Council proposes to re-open the existing boarding and the loop walk.To achieve this purpose, the Scheme proposes construction of a c. 400linm raised recycled plastic boardwalk and general refurbishment of a walking loop with all landscape and associated works.
