Tender description

Provision of legal services to assist the Forestry Commission with various requirements, which include but are not limited to: — estate and property management, — claim management — traffic and third party, — HR and employment law, — public law, — corporate law, — debt recovery. This framework agreement is largely dominated by property management of the nation’s forests. Property management is undertaken by the Estates Team. The team is led by the Director of Estates, Mari Sibley, who is a member of Forestry England’s Executive Team. The country is split into 6 districts, and 20 land agents work from those districts. The HR Team is led by the Head of HR, Paul Johnson, who is a member of Forestry England’s Executive Team. The finance team is led by the Director of Finance, David Hodson, who is a member of the Forestry England Board and Executive Team. The 254 000 hectare nation’s forest is the largest single landholding in the country. The estate comprises over 1 500 separate properties including some of the finest woodlands, forest and open land in England, a wide range of housing and commercial property, mineral developments, and a variety recreation/leisure businesses. The properties are spread across 6 Forest Districts: North England, Yorkshire, Central England, West England, East England, South England including Westonbirt Arboretum and the National Office in Bristol. There are over 850 people working in a broad range of roles delivering the diverse business functions covering the management of the estate.
