Leading Healthcare Providers Skillnet is looking to 3rd level institutions to tender for the delivery of PG qualifications in Infection Preventation and Control to the private nursing home sector

This RFT is published to invite suitable educational institutions in Ireland to submit a tender for the delivery of Postgraduate Qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control. Leading Healthcare Providers (LHP) Skillnet is a not-for-profit learning network, co-funded by member companies and Skillnet Ireland. Skillnet Ireland is funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills. LHP Skillnet, established in 2008, is a learning network with a membership of over 350 private healthcare companies across the hospital, nursing home, homecare, and primary care sectors. Our members are deeply committed to ensuring that the sector is focusing and working on closing skill gaps within the sector and are working collaboratively to provide practical and relevant responses to fill these gaps. These companies are very committed to learning, education, and development as a key element in the provision of the highest standards of care. The impact of COVID-19 on the private nursing home sector has been devastating and with the pandemic still very much active there is an immediate need within the private nursing home sector to develop expertise in Infection Prevention and Control. The programme proposed must be relevant to the clinical environment of nursing homes and take into account the health service structures within Ireland. On completion of the postgraduate qualification, successful students will hold a qualification or be in a position to progress to a qualification, to undertake the role of a clinical nurse specialist in infection prevention and control.
