Tender description

The supply of biomass fuel meeting the specification in the contract and meeting the requirements of the contract, to be delivered to the fuel depot(s) at the following sites: Site 1: Leicestershire County Council, County Hall, Championship Way, Glenfield, Leicestershire, LE3 8RE; Site 2: Hinckley Parks Primary School, Leicester Road, Hinckley, LE10 1LP. The successful supplier shall work with the Council where necessary to investigate options to source wood for the supply of biomass fuel from the Council’s own estate and operations. At all times the supplier must maintain accreditation to the BSL (Biomass suppliers list) in accordance with the requirements of the Renewable heat incentive scheme operated by OFGEM. For further information regarding the current provision of the service see Schedule 3 of the contract. In order to fulfil the expected standards of this contract, the successful bidder must provide: — 1 kg sample of every delivery received to be made available for random sampling with the option of an independent test on quality to be performed; — weighbridge tickets to be provided on each delivery; — 24 hours notice of replacement. Nothing under this contract gives the supplier the sole right to provide fuel for the energy requirements of the Council’s offices, workshops or other buildings. The Council at its sole discretion may arrange for other fuel suppliers to provide some or all of its energy requirements as the Council deems reasonable.
