Catering Service for the Big Creative Academy New Build 2020 (Walthamstow) Big Creative Academy is a vibrant and cosmopolitan community. The opportunity of learning and socialising with people from all parts of London with its rich cultural heritage is a vital part of the Academy experience. Big Creative Academy provides food, drink and social spaces for students, staff and other customers, with a canteen and café and kitchen garden. 200 students and staff currently are served each day for breakfast and lunch. Future daily uptake will increase in the new build. Alongside the outlets the Academy delivers hospitality services that provide food and beverages for meetings and events. In order to support the Academy’s priorities, responsibilities lie with Academy Operations to deliver the essential foundations. This catering strategy forms part of those essential foundations upon which the strategic goals can be achieved. Section 1 - General Requirements The Service Provider will provide a comprehensive, efficient, user friendly and cost effective catering and vending service to the Academy and other vending services to the New Build site. This is a concession contract with nil subsidy and an agreed percentage return of profit to the Academy. The service is required throughout the year, excluding Bank Holidays at some locations and will include some or all of the following: — canteen counter service - available at the times specified each day, for the provision of optional hot and cold meals, grab and go options, snacks, baguettes, sandwiches inclusive of healthy eating options, — hospitality - for conferences, meetings and special occasions. The cost of this service will be a matter between the Service Provider and the user, invoicing and cash collection will be the Service Providers’ responsibility. A cost proposal showing a range of buffet and beverage options designed for various function types and giving total and partial organic, farm assured and fairly traded options will be included in the Service Providers Plan, — vending machine services (optional) - confectionery and cold drink, where applicable, to be kept stocked and priced consistently with counter prices.
