Procurement, training and deployments of handheld radionuclide identification devices (RIDs). Border Force is an agency of the Home Office responsible for securing the UK border and for controlling migration at ports and airports across the UK and overseas. One of Border Force’s key strategic objectives is to deter and prevent the entry of individuals and goods that would harm the national interest. The RIDS supplied must enable the secondary examination process: — provides continuous operation in operating environment; — withstands environmental conditions; — easy to carry and use; — user friendly interface. The device must be secure: — supports passwords for expert users; — cannot upload unauthorised information to the System; — cannot download information from non authenticated/Home Office equipment.
