Tender description

Tenders are being invited from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to develop a Wayfinding and Interpretation Strategy and associated Signage Scheme for Sligo town. The key objective of this project is the delivery of a bespoke high quality signage strategy which will enhance the visitor experience and improve wayfinding around Sligo Town Centre. The strategy will address interpretation as well as orientation. This will require a comprehensive review of existing directional (vehicular and pedestrian) and interpretative signage in terms of sign location, comprehensiveness, completeness and functionality. An additional objective of the project is the identification of innovative ways in which Sligo could be made more visually attractive to motorists accessing the town from all main roads, the N4, N15, N16 etc. The consultants shall propose a family of way-finding signage for the town including as considered appropriate: • pedestrian signage - finger post, way finding etc. • interpretative signage, including amenity walks, heritage trails, biodiversity; All elements of the final Signage Plan must be fully detailed, specified and designed, appropriate for Sligo County Council to tender for their manufacture, purchase and installation. The Consultant, which would ideally be an architect-led team shall research, design and produce the Strategy and associated signage scheme. The team will provide all necessary consultancy design services including design, graphics, content editing, heritage/interpretation and other services necessary for the performance of the services described in this RFT.
