Tender description

*** THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION *** UKRI had a requirement for fuel to support operations in Antarctica, the requirement included the supply of c600 drums of Jet A1 (aviation fuel). This contract has been awarded in line with Regulation 32, (2), (b) (ii) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (as amended). It is not considered practical or economic to source fuel separately from undertaking the air drop that is required in 2020/2021 for this exercise. ALCI have an arrangement to carry fuel on the Russian Antarctic Programme's icebreaker from Cape Town to their operating hub at Novo Blue Ice runway. This route would not be open if fuel were procured from another supplier.
