Tender description

The Manchester Metrolink network serves 99 stops along over 100 km of track, using a variety of trackforms. A Road-Rail Vehicle (RRV) is required to facilitate the inspection, maintenance and operation of the system. The supplier is required to provide Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) (the Client) with a Road Rail Vehicle (RRV) (the Vehicle) suitable for multiple maintenance and operational activities which will be undertaken by Keolis-Amey Metrolink (KAM) (the Operator). The supplier is required to simultaneously provide the Client with a mountable/demountable Vertical Lifting Platform (VLP) that fully integrates with the Vehicle and suitable for maintenance activities at height on the network. The Vehicle will be roadworthy on public roads in the United Kingdom, with a minimum top speed of 90 kph. The Vehicle will be Euro 6 emissions compliant. The Vehicle will be capable of running on standard gauge track on the Metrolink Network. The Wheel-rail interface and track geometry of the network are provided in Appendices A and B. The Vehicle shall have a minimum top speed of 20 kph. The weight of the vehicle shall not exceed 14 000 kg.
