Tender description

The high streets heritage action zones initiative plans to use investment in and the regeneration of heritage assets, on or around high streets, as a catalyst for improving wider social, cultural, environmental and economic outcomes. Through targeted investment, advice and management support, the programme will revitalize selected areas by maximizing the potential of local character and heritage assets To help deliver successful high streets heritage action zone projects across England, Historic England wish to appoint consultants in each of our 6 regions, to contribute to regional listing activity throughout years 1 and 2 of the programme. Successful consultants will support regional listing teams deliver a range of listing-related activity, which will underpin a better understanding of the special interest of historic buildings and places within our 68 project towns. Consultant work is likely to be required in some or all of the following high street heritage action zones. Chatham; Gosport; Harlesden; Hastings; Newport Isle of Wight; Ramsgate; Reading; Ryde Isle of Wight; South Norwood; Tottenham; Wentworth Street LB Tower Hamlets; Woolwich. Listing consultancy activity is anticipated to take place between July 2020 and March 2022, specific dates to be agreed with the team leader in the first 6 months of the contract. Please note dates for each project within the anticipated range above will be agreed with the regional Listing Team Leader within the first six months of the contract for the whole 2 year period, subject to agreement with successful consultant and project partners timetables.
