Tender description
QEC aircraft carriers Recertification Docking Requirement/UK Eyes Only The Ministry of Defence (MOD) Naval Ships Support (NSS) Team manages the in-service support of the Queen Elizabeth warships (QEC). The NSS team has a potential future requirement to provide next dry dockings of two aircraft carriers: QNLZ and PWLS. The contracting authority will look to best utilise learning from experience from the first dry docking whilst ensuring competition and value for money are achieved. The successful bidder will be required to support all requirements under the contract throughout the planned contract duration. The scope and supportive activities will include but are not limited to planning and delivering robust essential inspection maintenance and LR recertification (hull, underwater appendages, valves, stabiliser, paint scheme etc), managing effectively unplanned variations in scope as well as risk and opportunities, ensuring suitable security and controlled access at all times. In issuing this PIN, the MOD is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the strategy stated in this PIN. The MOD reserves the right to alter the approach to this project prior to commencing any formal procurement (under DSPCR 2011 exemption Article 346 — national security). Equally, non-participation in this Market Engagement will not be taken into account in any future procurement activities and will not preclude any organisation from submitting a tender in any future competition.
