Tender description

Modification to provision of legal advice and representation to CCMS for the period 1 May 2020 to 1 November 2020 with the option of a further 6 months extension. EA contract 70125 for this advice and representation operated from 25 May 2016 to 30 April 2020. The Education Authority awarded a contract for legal services on 25 May 2016. A one year extension to the contract was taken in 2019 and was due to end on Thursday 30 April 2020. In March 2020, it became clear to the Education Authority that the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent restrictions and conditions imposed by the UK Government and the financial impact of the pandemic would affect any new contractor’s ability to perform all of the required activities under the contract. Therefore, modifications were agreed with the current contractors for the period of the Covid-19 outbreak. The Education Authority could not have foreseen the wide ranging impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Education Authority considers it vital that there is consistency and continuity of legal advice to Catholic Maintained Schools during the current pandemic.
