Tender description

4 000 000.00. Gate valves These valves are used for the isolation of a pipe that may contain raw, potable, waste water or sludge. Operating under a range of conditions and pressures these valves use a lifting gate that is operated to isolate flow in the path of a fluid. Supply of gate valves (Knife valves, 50-300 NP16, 350-800 NP16, NP25 and above, any other related valve). Supply of gate valves equates to 15 % of the valves spend within this framework. It would be the intention of DCWW to appoint. These hydrants are for access of water from main for either system operability or cleaning or for use by fire service. These valve are multifunctional and designed to allow pressurised water in a controlled way to be released from the main and more recently to allow leak detection, condition monitoring or sensors into a live main. Supply of hydrants equates to 15 % of the valves spend within this framework. These ball valves are a valve that can operate to isolate and also to offer flow control, this is a quarter turn valve that uses a hollow and pivoting ball. The ball rotates in the pipe to offer the characteristics and flow rates above. Can be used in potable, raw and limited waste water applications supply of ball valves equates to approx. 5 % of the valves spend within this framework. These valves are also known as check valves and come in a variety of forms and these depend upon application. All do the same role and this is to prevent a liquid from flowing backward in a pipe or to ensure flow in one direction. This maybe to protect infrastructure or to aid pumped systems. Specific valves are used for potable water, raw water and waste water or sludge applications. NRV’s can operate automatically or be assisted to close faster in a variety of ways and can be used to aid the prevention of water hammer. Supply of Non — return (Swing Check, Flap, Tilting Disc, Duck Bill, Wafer, Ball, Nozzle Ring, Other and ancillaries) Equates to approx. 10 % of the valves spend with this framework. This covers a range of products that have very specific applications. This could be flow, pressure and surge protection. This category covers any other valves not already listed and cover potable, raw, waste water and sludge. Supply of specialist valves (Diaphragm, Eccentric, Plug Valves, Globe Valves, Other Specialist Valves, Inlet Control, Pressure Sustaining, Surge Relief, Plug Valves). Equates to approx. 15 % of the valves spend within this framework. Designed to automate the process of operating valves. A mechanism is fitted onto the valve stem and it operates either via control room or as part of an automated process. Suited to be fitted to any valve but must be matched to the valve working conditions. Supply of actuators equates to approx. 90 % of the actuators spend within this framework. Providing maintenance of valves for lots 1 to 8 in this framework equates to approx.20 % of the valves spend within this framework It would be the intention of Providing maintenance of actuators equates to approx. 10 % of the actuators spend within this framework. These valves are designed to act as air release and protect against vacuum conditions from a water or waste water system. They allow automatic air release in pipelines to increase system efficiency and damage to the main. Under vacuum conditions, they automatically allow air into a main to prevent damage and potential collapse of the main. Supply of air valves (Water, Other and Ancillaries, Waste) equates to approx. 5 % of the valves spend within this framework. These butterfly valve are an isolation valve that uses a rotating disc over a quarter turn to isolate pipeline in a water or clean effluent system. Suited to a range of applications and pressures with a number of configurations designed to allow for speedy operation. Supply of butterfly valves (Wafer Pattern, Flanged — Long Pattern, Flanged- Short pattern other and ancillaries) equites to approx. 10 % of the Valves spend within this framework. A penstock is a sluice or gate or intake structure that controls liquid flow inside a channel or an enclosed pipe that delivers water to waste water and raw water systems (and occasionally potable water within service reservoirs). Designed to operate as both flow and isolation systems. Can operate as weirs. Supply of penstocks equates to approx. 5 % of the valves spend within this framework.
