<p>Alternative provision (AP) is recognised by the Department for Education (DfE) as, &ldquo;&hellip;education arranged by local authorities for pupils who, because of exclusion, illness or other reasons, would not otherwise receive suitable education; education arranged by schools for pupils on a fixed period exclusion; and pupils being directed by schools to off-site provision to improve their behaviour.&rdquo; (DfE 2013).</p> <p>DPS Round 3 - The City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking to commission a range of AP providers which drive, support and improve students&rsquo; engagement and inclusion whilst promoting choice and delivering best value for money.</p> <p>The service will consist of alternative educational provision to compliment mainstream academic / curriculum studies. The specialism and educational focus of the services offered will vary dependent on pupils&rsquo; specific needs.
