Food Drink Ireland Skillnet are looking to procure the service of an education provider to deliver a certified programme in Food and Drink regulatory affairs to its membership. Background to the requirement: People working in the food industry in Technical areas such as Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory Affairs, R&D need to have a strong understanding of legislation and how to interpret legislation in the future. People working in these roles come from a come from a variety of backgrounds, including food science, food engineering, home economics, microbiology, and many have not had any specific certified training in food regulatory affairs. Requirement: To deliver a tailored Regulatory Affairs course that ensures trainees not only learn specifics on Food Regulation but also how to understand and use their judgement appropriately in interpreting food regulation for their businesses. Course: The course will be aimed at people working in technical roles in the food industry. Learners on this course should gain a good knowledge of the landscape of food regulation on a local, European and global level. They will also get an in-depth working knowledge of the specific pieces of legislation pertaining to food. Learning methodology: Combination of lectures, working groups, project, exam and reading. Certification: Minimum of level 8
