United Utilities Water Ltd intend to put a framework in place for the supply and delivery of phosphorus recovery technologies to recover phosphorus as a reusable product from wastewater, centrate or the sludge stream. The framework will cover supply and delivery to the various United Utilities wastewater treatment sites that require phosphorus recovery. United Utilities Water Ltd are investigating the opportunity to recover phosphorus from as a reusable product. Recovery could be from any part in the wastewater treatment process, sludge treatment and sludge liquors. To enable the successful delivery of this aim United Utilities Water Ltd would like to understand the technologies which are available to capture phosphorus and recover it as a reusable product. Proposals are requested to include details of: • P recovery technology feed stream and minimum quality standards; • P recovery chemical requirements; • Product quality standards: product phosphorus content, product type, volume, moisture content; • Product storage requirements. Please note that this is not a call for competition, this is a research exercise for United Utilities to understand the supply markets capabilities so as to inform our future strategy in this area. We would ask that proposals are kept as clear and concise as possible.
