Phase 2 Engineering Support

Tender description

IE intends to carry out major Roofing Refurbishment Projects at its Maintenance Depots in Limerick and Dublin in 2020 and 2021. The approximate surface of the roofing projects are as follows: • Dublin- 6,700 sq/m • Limerick – 800 sq/m Following the tender competition for Phase 1 - Building Surveys (tender ref: 7471) IE are seeking the services of an Engineering Consultant to prepare details of Roof Design and necessary Refurbishments based on the Building Survey reports from Phase 1 including: • Preparation of all designs, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities as necessary for the purpose of obtaining competitive tenders for roofing and other Civil Engineering Projects that may arise • Assist Irish Rail in the evaluation of bid returns, develop comprehensive evaluation notes, partake in any tender evaluation meetings and prepare an evaluation report. The expertise of the Engineer will be relied upon in order to lead to the appointment of a suitable contractor via the relevant tender process. • Assisting in the assessment of the competence of the Contractors to act as Project Supervisor (Construction) Stage • Carry out the role of the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) under the Health Safety and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 and subsequent regulations, the scope of the works should include the following o An assessment and coordination of all relevant safety issues to include design Risk assessments and method statements for all temporary works, roof design and structural design works; o Liaise with IE regarding all internal safety regulations. o Preparation of the Preliminary Health & Safety Plan for issue in the Tender Pack o Preparation and assembly of the Safety file based on information supplied by others (the Consultant and the Contractor). o Preparation of the safety file for the projects to be handed over not later than 4 weeks after the completion of the project. The Service Provider will have to complete a PTS course
