Tender description

Purchase of WAP and networking equipment for the Durham University Wifi Refresh Project. This project will deliver a next-generation wireless refresh programme across the entire University estate. Approximately 3 000 wifi access points (APs) across campus are in scope for replacement. We expect the total number of APs to significantly increase in order to provide desired coverage and capacity — the projected final number is circa 5 000. The necessary upgrades in capacity to our switching infrastructure to support this is also part of the refresh. The programme of works received approval in late 2019 and is expected to last until the end of September 2021. Supply of Aruba WAP and network switching equipment as part of a 2-year upgrade project. The University infrastructure is Aruba based therefore this requirement is for Aruba WAP and network switching equipment.
