Why the Work is Being Done To support the delivery of the Highways England infromation and technolgoy transformation plan and supporting the delivery of digital, data and technology objectives for Road Investment Strategy 2 (2020 to 2025). RIS 2 - https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/road-investment-strategy-post-2020 Problem to Be Solved We need to the ability to simply visualise complex systems so our employees and supply chain partners are able to understand their role in contributing to the success of Highways England's digital, data and technology related objectives. We are trying to connect the country, and to do this we need to be better connected ourselves. We need to make sure data becomes less siloed and the language we used to describe our environment has shared meaning across our people and stakeholders. Who Are the Users This solution needs to be able to create shared meaning of our information and technology vision & strategy to technical and non technical audiences that include executive leaders, senior and middle managers, junior employees, front line staff and supply chain partners. Early Market Engagement Work Already Done Existing Team You will be working for the Chief Data Officer providing support to their direct team that includes data architecture, data engineering, data science, data governance, information security and information rights. You will also be working with Our Chief Information Officer to support the communication of Highways England Information and technology functions transformation. Current Phase Alpha Work Location The Cube 199 Wharfside Street Birmingham B1 1RN Working Arrangments Monday to Friday based in Highways England offices starting work by 9.30am, 7.5 hours per day + lunch time. Estimated time on sites: 20% Birmingham, 10% Bristol, 10% Leeds, 20% London All expenses must be pre-agreed with between the parties and must comply with the Highways England (HE) Travel and Subsistence (T&S) Policy.
