Waterford and Wexford Education & Training Board (WWETB) invites tenders to this Request for Tender (RFT) from education/training service providers for the provision of a pilot NZEB Train the Trainer course. Waterford and Wexford ETB intend to appoint a single supplier to develop, deliver, evaluate and certify the pilot NZEB Train the Trainer course. In the event that the successful tenderer fails to conform to WWETB requirements or cannot provide specifications as required WWETB reserve the right to go to the second ranked tenderer on the panel. What is NZEB? Definition: 'Nearly Zero Energy Buildings', NZEB means a building that has a very high energy performance where the nearly zero or very low amount of energy required should be covered to a very significant extent by energy from renewable sources including energy from renewable sources produced on-site or nearby“. This Government directive with Policy and building regulations will require all construction professionals to adhere to the NZEB Standard and undergo upskilling to meet the requirements of the sustainable building agenda. WWETB has developed a number of training courses which are designed to provide learners with knowledge of the principles and practices that help in achieving the NZEB standard. WWETB require a service to develop, deliver, evaluate and certify a Train the Trainer programme through blended training and practical training in the NZEB Training Centre, Enniscorthy, Waterford Training Centre and Wexford Training Centre. This is a pilot project for WWETB funded by SOLAS. The objective is to develop, deliver, evaluate and certify a QQI level 7 (or equivalent) NZEB Train the Trainer programme over a 6 month period. The copyright for training material is owned by WWETB. Once completed and the evaluation report concluded this course may be rolled out nationwide.
