Tender description

Masonry repairs and landscaping to canal lock chamber and surrounding area. Masonry repair works will include de-vegetation, surface cleaning, raking out of joints and flush re-pointing to the top 8 courses of the lock chamber walls, localised demolition and rebuilding of collapsed and displaced masonry walls. The works are to be treated as conservation / restoration activities, with care taken to maintain the original appearance and use of traditional materials, i.e natural hydraulic lime mortar, as appropriate. All existing collapsed and displaced masonry is to be salvaged and reused where possible, and matched with replacement as necessary.
