7486 - Supply of Workshop Consumables

Tender description

Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) has a requirement for a specialist company to provide engineering workshop consumables to all workshop stores, engineering facilities and depots nationwide. The proposed duration will be for an initial period of 3 years with an option to extend the term by a further 1 year, giving a maximum contract duration of 4 years. Workshop consumables will contain the following product types (but not limited to): Abrasives, Adhesives, Sealants, Chemicals, Lubricants, Tapes, Torches, Batteries, Tools, Drill Bits and Building Materials. (IÉ) require that companies participating in the pre-qualification phase of the process to demonstrate that they have the resources, capabilities and experience to manage a contract for supply of workshop consumables to all required locations nationwide. Companies will be required to regularly visit locations to ensure that the various consumable needs of (IÉ) maintenance and operational staff are being met. (IÉ) will also be seeking a streamlined (ordering / delivery / invoicing) proposal which utilises best in class procurement system technologies to optimise the process and reduce all unnecessary costs and complexities. The awarded contracts will require the fulfilment of multiple low value orders on a daily basis from operational depots across the Irish rail network, the provision of an electronic catalogue will be required to facilitate the ordering process. A dedicated Account Manager will be required to attend regular contract review meetings with the (IÉ) Procurement team, to provide comprehensive Delivery Performance Metrics, to develop ongoing cost reduction strategies within the internal/external supply chain and to provide quality products whilst consistently ensuring product availability, best in class delivery service with a continued focus to provide unrivaled VFM.
